UpSchool - Wade Institute

UpSchool

UpSchool Teacher Workshops give K-12 educators the skills, experience, and confidence to teach entrepreneurship to students, across all levels.

Through our proven experiential learning model, participants engage first-hand with material essential to supporting Australia’s next generation of thinkers, doers and creative problem solvers.

Unlike traditional professional development programs, UpSchool Workshop is intense and immersive. You will experience as a student the methods and processes involved in building a sustainable business, before jumping back into the shoes of a teacher to gain actionable implementation strategies.

Past participants have found that attending with one or more colleagues is most effective in implementation back at the school.

The UpSchool curriculum is mapped to the AITSL Australian Professional Teachers Standards, the Australian Curriculum and the Victorian Curriculum.

“It’s good to feel uncomfortable, good to feel pushed outside of your comfort zone. It means that you can then rethink and reshape the way you teach, and how you approach those questions with the students. Because you know how you felt when you did it. And I think it’s always good to come at learning from a learner’s point of view.”

Kyi Muller  – Haileybury College (UpSchool K-12 Workshop 2019)

“It was the practical learning that was particularly inspiring. I think hands-on learning is absolutely essential for teachers, and nothing compares to putting yourself in your student’s shoes. My group pitched a travel program. It gave me lots of ideas for how we could cherry pick parts of the UpSchool program and develop it to suit our school.”
