Wade Institute came alive as we gathered for Showcase Pitch Night 2024. It’s more than just a pitch comp; Showcase is a celebration of bold ideas, tireless effort, and the vibrant community that supports our budding entrepreneurs.

And what a night it was! Showcase Pitch Night was a celebration of entrepreneurial talent, innovation, and the culmination of the 2024 class of the University of Melbourne’s Master of Entrepreneurship. The energy in the room was electric as four student teams took the stage to present their ideas to an enthusiastic audience and a panel of expert judges.

The pitches were fantastic, but there can only be one winner. Drum roll and applause for the winner (as chosen by our judging panel) of the 2024 Major Prize, and $5,000 in seed funding:

Achievable
Co-founders: Christian Bien, Saira Qayyum, Panyathip Vongsouli, Katherine Ip

One in three Australian students struggle with numeracy and literacy. Achievable is a low-cost private tutor in a child’s pocket, providing tailored questions, rewards, and support. Their mission is to make every learning challenge achievable.

Our enthusiastic attendees voted for their favourite too. The highly-coveted 2024 People’s Choice Award, taking home $1,000 in seed funding, went to:

Serein
Co-founders: Dyah Maharani, Cher Li, Chris Tran

Serein is a skincare platform offering personalised recommendations tailored to your unique skin needs. It uses advanced technology to match you with the best products, ensuring a routine that works just for you. Simple, effective, and completely customised.

Congratulations to all the student teams who pitched at Showcase 2024 including, FoodLoop by co-founders Oraya (Nan) Denkijkul, Pravee (Tim) Kruachottikul and Exarance by co-founders Bryan Edbert Jonathan, Iga Bagus Jaya Wardhana, Alisna Yanni. Your ideas, enthusiasm and hard work were truly inspiring – we can’t wait to see what you do next.
