Changes to events and programs due to coronavirus (COVID-19)

Last updated 23 March 2020
Wade Institute of Entrepreneurship welcomes people from all over the world. We understand many in our community are concerned about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety, health and welfare of our students, staff and guests is paramount. Our thoughts are with our community members, and anyone who has been affected during this difficult time.

Wade Institute and Ormond College are closely monitoring the circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus outbreak and have a coordinated plan in place including measures to facilitate online learning for Master of Entrepreneurship students.

In line with the Government guidelines, the following events and programs have been postponed or cancelled:

VC Catalyst
Due to the international nature of VC Catalyst, and travel restrictions imposed on key program speakers, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the March intake of the program until later in the year. This is a decision we haven’t taken lightly, but feel it is in the best interest of our participants, speakers and staff. The VC Catalyst program of events, including the VC Catalyst Going Global Pitch Comp powered by AWS will also be postponed.

University of Melbourne 2020 Menzies Oration
Similarly, the University of Melbourne 2020 Menzies Oration: a crash course in creativity has been postponed due to Stanford University travel restrictions. This includes the Dr Tina Seelig-led creative workshop hosted here at Wade Institute and the Oration hosted at Ormond College.

Welcome Drinks
With restrictions on large events in place for Wade Institute and Ormond College, we’ve postponed our event welcoming the 2020 University of Melbourne Master of Entrepreneurship cohort. We’ll make sure there are plenty of chances to meet and mingle with our new entrepreneurs in training throughout the year. In the meantime, get to know them all over on our blog.

We’ll continue to keep our community updated as the situation continues to unfold.

Thank you for your understanding as we work through these challenges. We look forward to seeing you at Wade Institute soon!
